If you share this computer with your abuser, please know that he can track your activities on it. If you are afraid of him, please use a safe computer (a friends, one from the public library).
Please be careful: corresponding by email does not ensure confidentiality.
Also, please be aware that whenever you use a computer, "cookies" are created. Cookies are cryptic bookmarks that form a sort of link, or a calling card, on your computer; they are formed when you visit Web sites which use them (most do) in order that the can more easily allow you access next time (by loading easier, remembering you, etc.). Cookies are not dangerous to your computer but they can leave a trail of evidence showing websites you have been on. When you visit a website on domestic violence, a cookie is created as a result of that visit; by checking your history, etc., your abuser can easily trace your trail in order to discover where you've been.
Please be careful.
