At the end of myself…at the feet of Jesus

Matthew 25: 40, And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

It was too hard for me to break away

I knew I could never do it

But You saw me, Lord, so twisted

Between what I once knew

and what I longed to see.

That made the parting easier,

Eased away the pain.

Even left some warmth and laughter-

all that was good

From what is now over.

It’s not a goodbye

no breaking away,

Only a passage

from yesterday to tomorrow.
